Ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Robinson en de historische werkplaats Okamoto Shoten, eren deze Kurume “kasuri” pouches een van Japan’s meest emblematische textieltradities.
In tegenstelling tot gewone textiel wordt kasuri niet bedrukt na het weven. Elke draad wordt van tevoren individueel geverfd — een nauwgezet, traditioneel proces dat uitzonderlijke vaardigheid en precisie vereist.
Terwijl de stof wordt geweven, vormen deze vooraf geverfde draden patronen met zachte, natuurlijk vervaagde randen. Dit kenmerkende “kasuri”-effect geeft elke pouch een poëtisch, bijna handgeschilderd uiterlijk. Elk motief belichaamt geduld, vakmanschap en een erfgoed dat meer dan twee eeuwen is verfijnd.
